Graduate Assistantships at °µÍø½ûÇø

°µÍø½ûÇø offers a limited number of Graduate Assistantships (GAs) that are available annually to provide qualified students with professional development opportunities, tuition reduction, and financial benefits. These positions are designed to support academic programs, administrative departments, and student-centric areas such as athletics or student life.

Graduate assistants may focus on discipline-related projects, curriculum, special projects. To be eligible for a Graduate Assistant position, students must apply and be admitted as a full-time degree seeking student in an approved Graduate Program. Graduate assistants will be eligible to work up to 10-20 hours per week (depending on position), and will receive tuition credits plus stipend based on the hours worked. Tuition remission is only available for Fall and Spring terms.

Graduate Assistant for Academic Success

The primary focus of this role is the management of the Maxient Data System, specifically regarding the Early Alert System used to identify at-risk students. This request is particularly critical as the university transitions to Maxient as the primary tool for student success, effectively replacing and addressing the functional gaps and failed implementation attempts of CRM Advise. The GA will provide essential support in the following areas:

  • Early Alert Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigning Maxient’s alerts to the Academic Success team to ensure timely student intervention.
  • System Monitoring: Regularly monitor case-loads within Maxient to ensure no student "falls through the cracks" and that staff bandwidth is managed effectively.
  • Data Reporting: Retrieve and compile data reports when needed to track the effectiveness of the initial Maxient Case Management (Early Alert System).
  • Communication Maintenance: Update and refine communication templates within Maxient to ensure outreach to students is professional and consistent.

Graduate Assistant for the Office of Accessibility Services

The Exam Proctor/ Graduate Assistant (GA) reports to the Director of Accessibility Services and is primarily responsible for proctoring exams in a controlled and supportive environment at °µÍø½ûÇøâ€™s Northeast campus. This role ensures that testing accommodations are provided fairly and securely while fostering a welcoming, stress-free atmosphere for test-takers. The GA will secure test materials, verify student identity, enforce testing policies, and maintain communication with faculty regarding test completion. Initial training will provide candidates with clear expectations and guidelines to ensure compliance with the university’s testing standards. This position requires flexible availability, with a start time as early as 8:00 am until about 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. An exam schedule will be provided in advance so that the GA can plan accordingly.

Graduate Assistant for Campus Life

The Graduate Assistant for Campus Life is a student-centered position and has responsibilities of program management for both on- and off-campus events, as well as to provide administrative and operational support for the Student Engagement Office and Registered Student Organizations. This position will work closely with the Assistant Director for Student Engagement to expand current social media and marketing support, manage and promote club sports and intramurals and expand our Mascot program in order to foster a rich, diverse, and vibrant campus community. The Graduate Assistant will serve as a student conduct administrative hearing officer within the Office of the Dean of Students, and will provide support and assistance to students facing various challenges and obstacles throughout their academic journey. Student conduct will require the Graduate Assistant to identify, assess, and address the needs of individual students, and provide adjudication to code of conduct and policy violations of the Student Handbook.

Graduate Assistant for Residential Education

The Graduate Assistant for Residential Education will focus on community building and residential development. This position will support the Residence Hall Association (RHA), and serve as a liaison between students and residence life staff. This position will support the Assistant Director of Residence Life and on-campus Resident Assistants in engagement and program development. The role works closely with residential life staff to build a positive residential community that fosters opportunities for student growth, group interaction and individual responsibility within the context of a learning environment. The role will also provide general administrative and operational support to residence life and the Assistant Director and Assistant Dean. The Graduate Assistant will serve as a student conduct administrative hearing officer within the Office of the Dean of Students, and will provide support and assistance to students facing various challenges and obstacles throughout their academic journey. Student conduct will require the Graduate Assistant to identify, assess, and address the needs of individual students, and provide adjudication to code of conduct and policy violations of the Student Handbook.

Graduate Assistant for Counseling Psychology

The Graduate Assistant for Counseling Psychology will play a vital role in elevating the clinical rigor of the program by providing essential technical and logistical support to both students and faculty. This position serves as a peer mentor and "technical filter," offering students immediate corrective feedback on administration rules, scoring, and report-writing to prevent the rehearsal of errors and alleviate clinical anxiety. Beyond student support, the GA will ensure the integrity of assessment data by auditing protocols for mathematical and clerical accuracy prior to instructor review, allowing faculty to focus on high-level clinical synthesis and nuanced diagnostic feedback. Additionally, the GA is responsible for the professional upkeep of assessment kit inventory and the management of "mock client" recruitment, fostering a culture of clinical excellence that mirrors professional practice.

Graduate Assistant for Mission & Ministry

The Graduate Assistant for Mission & Ministry will support student ministry and faith programming across our Newtown East, West, and Northeast campuses. The GA will maintain a consistent ministry presence by holding office hours at both Newtown locations, serving as a resource for students, faculty, and staff while assisting with major initiatives like the Festival of Light. A primary focus of this role involves the development of innovative online and "on the go" faith enrichment programs designed to meet students where they are spiritually. Beyond these core responsibilities, the GA will support various departmental projects, with opportunities to tailor assignments to their specific professional interests for a truly meaningful learning experience.

Graduate Assistant for Career Development Services (2)

The Graduate Assistant (GA) works under the supervision of the Interim Administrator for Internships and Career Services. The GA’s primary responsibility is contributing to the University's mission of fostering student success by providing valuable support in career-related initiatives. The GA provides comprehensive services aimed at empowering students to explore, develop, and achieve their career goals. The Graduate Assistant will gain valuable experience in higher education, career development, and student engagement.

Graduate Assistant for the Office of Marketing & Communications

The Graduate Assistant to the VP for Marketing & Communications (VPMC) will serve within the division of the office of the President. This role will serve as an administrator to the VP for Marketing & Communications, responsible for assisting in the smooth and efficient operation of the Marketing & Communications department. This role will encompass a blend of planning, project management, operational assistance, and relationship management. This position is up to 20 hours per week over a 9-month period and is ideal for individuals who are looking for an opportunity for an immersive experience in a marketing & communications department with an opportunity to apply their organizational skills both at the planning and operational levels, while serving in a supportive role.

Graduate Assistant for Athletics - Sports Information

The Graduate Assistant for Sports Information will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information in the promotion of °µÍø½ûÇø and its 19 varsity athletic programs, while operating with integrity and in a welcoming manner that complies with NCAA, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, Athletics Department and University rules and regulations. The Graduate Assistant will cooperate and work harmoniously within the athletics department, and the campus community, as appropriate, in carrying out the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletic program.

Graduate Assistant for Athletics - Men's Basketball

This position will work with the Basketball program under the supervision of the Head Coach. The position will help support all aspects of the program including travel, recruiting, administration, and coaching/mentoring. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the organization of team meals during team travel and winter break.
  • Assist the head coach in daily day-to-day operations.
  • This position requires the ability to break down film and scout/evaluate opponents.
  • Assist with game management of other areas as assigned and supervise study halls.
  • Assist with fundraising efforts and represent the athletic department at various functions.
  • Assist with conditioning of athletes and summer and winter camp operations.
  • Greet and assist opponents who use our gym for practices.
  • Recruit on and off campus and be involved in on-campus visits.

°µÍø½ûÇø's Office of Information Technology is seeking a motivated and creative Graduate Assistant (GA) to join our team. Graduate Assistant for the Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) Department

The Graduate Assistant (GA) works under the supervision of the Doctorate of Psychology in Counseling Psychology Program Director. The GA’s primary responsibility is contributing to the University's mission of service responsibility and life-long learning through the application of skills to practice and practical learning opportunities to help foster competent professionals and responsible citizens. The GA will be responsible for supporting program admissions/recruitment, coordinating administrative tasks for the program, and developing and implementing a program improvement project. The Graduate Assistant will gain valuable experience in higher education and curriculum/program development.

Graduate Assistant for the Office of Enrollment Management

This position will provide support the Office of Enrollment Management - Graduate/Adult Admissions by carrying out projects, assisting in planning for campus events, conducting research and benchmarking projects. The position will assist Graduate and Adult Admissions office recruitment and yield initiatives; contacting/calling inquiries, applicants, admitted students; assisting the Director with streamlining new processes for the office (admission decisions, packets, other mailings, etc); provide support to Graduate/Adult recruiters with data entry into CRM. The goal is to have support in the office to help conduct tasks allowing the team to focus on increased enrollment targets for the University.
