°µÍø½ûÇø to Launch Nurse Aide Training Program
The °µÍø½ûÇø School of Nursing & Health Sciences is excited to announce the Pennsylvania Board of Education approval for its newly created Nurse Aide Training Program. The program is designed to meet a growing area and statewide need for certified nursing aides in hospitals, nursing homes, private care, and the expanding field of home healthcare. Completion of the six-week program, with a passing grade on the national certification examination, will provide an immediate pathway to an in-demand career as a certified nurse aide (CNA).
°µÍø½ûÇø Names Dr. Bindhu Alappat Vice President for Academic Affairs
°µÍø½ûÇø President Anne Prisco, Ph.D. announced the appointment of Bindhu Alappat, Ph.D. as the University’s Vice President of Academic Affairs. A seasoned academic administrator with over 15 years of experience in Catholic higher education as both a chemistry professor and an administrator, Dr. Alappat will assume her new leadership role on August 1, 2024.

Former Fulbright scholarship recipient Dr. Barbara Schwartz-Bechet has assumed her role as the newly appointed Dean of the School of Education at °µÍø½ûÇø. Dr. Schwartz-Bechet brings 25 years of experience in higher education, most recently as the Dean of the College of Health Sciences and Education at Misericordia University.
